View snapshot policies dashboard

The Snapshot policy feature provides snapshot orchestration at scale (1,024 snaps per storage group). The feature simplifies snapshot management for snapshots.

The snapshot policies dashboard is a card dashboard from which you can view all snapshot policies, the number of associated storage groups and their snapshot policy compliance status from a high level. The system is shipped with default policies.

Steps

  1. Select a storage system that supports snapshot policies.
  2. Select Data Protection > Snapshot Policies.
  3. Optional: If there are no existing snapshot policies, click Create Snapshot Policy to create one.
  4. Optional: Click An icon of six squares in a card view to display the snapshot policy view in card view format.
  5. Optional: Click An icon of three squares in a list view to display the snapshot policy view in list view format.
  6. View the following parameters displayed in each snapshot policy panel:
    • Snapshot policy name
    • Number of associated storage groups and their associated compliance status. Clicking any of the numbers results in the display of the snapshot policy storage group list view.
    • Snapshot policy schedule summary
    • Indication of suspended status if applicable
  7. Click An icon of a bell to view the alerts.
  8. Click An icon of a pencil to modify the snapshot policy.
  9. Optional: Click Create Snapshot Policy to create a snapshot policy.
  10. Click An icon showing three dots arranged in a vertical row, signifying a menu with more options to access extra controls.
